Job Title / Position : Youth for India Fellow (Rural Development Fellow)

Job Description :

The SBI Youth for India Fellowship provides an opportunity for young graduates to work with rural communities and partner NGOs across India. Fellows collaborate with local organizations to implement development projects in areas such as education, environment, livelihoods, health, and rural innovation. The program focuses on creating sustainable social impact while helping participants build leadership and problem-solving skills.

Job Location : Rural areas across India.

Selected fellows are placed with partner NGOs working in villages across multiple states in India.

Duration of Job / Fellowship :13 Months (Full-time)

The fellowship includes training, fieldwork in villages, and a final project review phase.

Job Benefits / Fellowship Benefits :

Selected fellows receive financial and professional support including:

1 тВ╣16,000 per month living allowance

2 тВ╣2,000 per month transport allowance

3 тВ╣2,000 per month project expenses allowance

4 тВ╣1,000 per month for professional learning & development

5 Language support at project location

6 Readjustment allowance of тВ╣1,10,000 after successful completion

7 Travel reimbursement for project travel and training programs

8 Health and personal accident insurance

9 Mentorship from experienced professionals

10 Support from partner NGOs and fellowship team

11 Assistance in finding accommodation near the project location

Who Can Apply (Eligibility Criteria) :

Candidates must meet the following conditions:

1 Must have completed a BachelorтАЩs degree or complete it before the program start date

2 Age: 21 to 32 years

3 Nationality:

  • Indian citizens
  • Citizens of Nepal or Bhutan
  • Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) / NRI

4 Must be willing to work in rural areas for the full fellowship duration

Responsibilities :

Fellows are expected to:

1 Work closely with rural communities and NGOs

2 Design and implement development projects

3 Identify local problems and develop sustainable solutions

4 Collaborate with community stakeholders

5 Monitor and report project progress

6 Participate in training, workshops, and fellowship events

7 Document impact and learning during the fellowship

Selection Process :

The selection process has two main stages:

Stage 1 тАУ Online Application & Assessment

Registration and preliminary questions

  • Essays and video submission (for shortlisted applicants)

Stage 2 тАУ Group Exercise & Personal Interaction

Evaluation of motivation, experiences, and suitability for rural development work

Final selection is based on overall performance in these stages.
