Established in 1902, the Rhodes Trust offers globally respected scholarships for academic excellence, character, leadership, and public service
India is allocated six scholarships annually for outstanding Indian students.
Candidate pool includes Indian citizens or refugees/asylum seekers in India (PIO/OCI cards not eligible).
Benefits :
Full Oxford tuition & college fees, plus annual living stipend ~£19,000.
Covers visa fee & health surcharge, two economy-class flights, and settling-in allowance.
Covers visa renewal and IHS for second-course scholars.
Provides full access to Rhodes House, global alumni network, leadership programs, and retreats.

Eligibility Criteria :
- Citizenship: Must be an Indian citizen with Indian passport (PIO/OCI ineligible); refugees in India also eligible.
- Residency/Education: Formal study in India for 4 of the last 10 years, and either completed 10th/12th in India or be in final year/graduate of Indian undergraduate degree.
- Age (as of 1 Oct 2025):
Primary: 18–23 years old (born between 2 Oct 2001–1 Oct 2007) OR
Secondary: under 27 if degree completed on/after 1 Oct 2024. - Academic requirement: Undergraduate degree completed or to be completed by July 2026, meeting Oxford entry standards—First class (or equivalent) preferred.
Documents Required :
- Academic transcripts, degree certificates, and school leaving proof.
- Proof of age & citizenship: passport or birth certificate & Indian passport (PIO/OCI not accepted).
- Passport-sized photo (JPG/headshot).
- CV (≤2 pages), personal statement (~1,000 words), and academic statement (~350 words).
- 4–6 letters of recommendation.
Selection Process :
- Online application & eligibility check (June–July).
- Shortlisting based on academics, leadership, character, public-mindedness.
- Preliminary & semi-final interviews (Aug–Sep) followed by final in-person or virtual interview (Sep–Oct).
- Offer contingent on Oxford admission—students must apply separately for Oxford admission.
