About Scholarship :
This scheme is run by ONGC’s Corporate Sports Division to support “young talented sportspersons” who may lack adequate financial means to train and perform in sports. It aims to promote sporting excellence and help athletes focus on their training and competitions rather than financial constraints. Scholarships are awarded annually (i.e. for a given financial year). Applicants must apply afresh each year.Out of total scholarships 50% scholarships are reserved for women candidates.

Benefits / Scholarship Amount :
Selected sportspersons receive a monthly stipend. The amount ranges roughly between ₹ 15,000 up to ₹ 30,000 depending on level and category.
⦁ A total of 250 scholarships are awarded in a cycle.
Sportspersons may be given opportunity to represent ONGC in domestic tournaments, they shall be paid TA / DA and necessary expenditure for participation.
ONGC will provide individual health/accident insurance of Rs.5,00,000/- (Rupees Five Lakhs only) to the players to cover illness/injury expenses or allow the players to obtain self-insurance for which premium up to Rs.7,000/- per annum would be reimbursed to them.
Sportspersons representing ONGC shall be provided playing kits.
Eligibility Criteria :
⦁ Age: In the current (2025-26) cycle, applicants must be between 15 and 20 years (Players’ date of birth between 1st April 2005 to
1st April 2010 are eligible to apply.)
⦁ Parental / Family Income: Must not exceed ₹ 5,00,000 per annum.
⦁ Citizenship: Indian citizens only.
⦁ Sporting Achievements: Applicants must have represented in recognized competitions (state, national, or international level) in one of the eligible sports.
⦁ Other Constraints: A candidate must not be availing another scholarship / stipend during the ONGC scholarship period.
⦁ The player should not be employed anywhere.
⦁ Sportsperson should not be availing any scholarship / stipend from SAI, Khelo India, Central / State Govt., PSUs, Foundations / Trusts, Multinationals / Private organizations.
⦁ Sportspersons earning money by Professional Leagues will not be eligible for scholarship.
⦁ Sportspersons received cash awards from Central / State Govt. for winning medals in Olympics, Asian Games, Commonwealth Games, World Cups & World Championships in senior categories, will not be eligible for the scholarship.

⦁ Sports achievement certificates (state / national / international)
⦁ Income certificate of parents / family
⦁ Valid ID proof (Aadhaar, passport, etc.)
⦁ Bank account details (to receive stipend)
Other supporting documents as applicable (e.g., school / institute ID)
Selection Process:
⦁ Apply online only via sportsscholarship.ongc.co.in (other modes are typically not accepted)
⦁ Registration step (if not already registered) → Login → Fill application form → Upload documents → Submit
⦁ Verification and evaluation by ONGC selection panel based on merit, authenticity of documents, and sports performance.
⦁ Legal action / rejection in case of submission of false / forged documents.
