About Kalaari Fellowship

The Kalaari Fellowship 2026 offers intensive exposure to the venture capital industry. Fellows work on real-world projects while developing analytical, research, writing and investment-related skills.

During the first year, fellows focus on areas such as investment analysis, sourcing, portfolio support, finance and market research. In the second year, they gain exposure to organisational initiatives, events and operational aspects of venture capital.

The program is particularly suitable for early-career professionals interested in venture capital careers, startups, technology, entrepreneurship and investment analysis.

Kalaari Fellowship Application Date 2026

Applications for Kalaari Fellowship Batch 5.0 are scheduled to open on 31 August 2026. The next batch is expected to launch in 2027.

Kalaari Fellowship Stipend

The fellowship provides a fixed stipend of INR 18 lakh per year. Fellows and their close family are also covered under Kalaari’s medical insurance policy, along with other applicable employee benefits.

Kalaari Fellowship Eligibility Criteria

The official Kalaari Fellowship page does not prescribe a specific academic or professional background. Kalaari states that candidates from diverse backgrounds can apply, including investment banking, consulting, startup operations, corporates, marketing and entrepreneurship.

However, the fellowship is designed for early-career professionals, and the ideal candidate has up to four years of professional experience. Candidates with five or more years of experience may not benefit as much from the program.

The Kalaari Fellowship selection process consists of multiple stages:

Step 2: Case Study Submission

Shortlisted applicants move to a case study stage designed to assess their analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Step 3: Technical Interview

Candidates who progress further participate in a technical interview.

Step 4: Final Discussion

Selected candidates proceed to a final discussion with the Kalaari team.

Step 5: Offer Rollout

Successful candidates receive the fellowship offer.

What Will Fellows Learn?

The fellowship follows an apprenticeship model and provides practical exposure across several areas.

Year 1

Investment Analysis & Sourcing:
Fellows identify emerging trends, develop investment theses and discover promising founders.

Portfolio Support & Finance:
Fellows work on financial modelling, MIS analysis and strategic growth projects.

Market Research & Publishing:
Fellows conduct primary and secondary research and contribute to thematic reports and sector-specific content.

Year 2

Organisational Building & Events:
Fellows contribute to content, marketing and leadership events.

Operational Excellence:
Fellows learn important VC processes, including term sheets, cap tables, evaluation frameworks and expert-network development.
