About the Fellowship
The Qmet PARIMANA Fellowship Program 2026 is a prestigious research fellowship launched by the Qmet Tech Foundation, a Section-8 (not-for-profit) organization established by IIT Bombay under the National Quantum Mission (NQM) of the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India.
The fellowship aims to develop highly skilled researchers in Quantum Technologies and Applications (QTA) by providing financial support, expert mentorship, industry exposure, and hands-on research opportunities. It also strengthens collaboration between academia and industry to accelerate innovation in quantum sensing, imaging, metrology, and related fields.
Fellowship Benefits
The fellowship offers financial assistance based on the applicant’s academic level.
Undergraduate (UG)
- Monthly stipend of тВ╣15,000
- Research duration of up to 10 months
- Additional тВ╣20,000 for consumables and contingency expenses
Postgraduate (PG)
- Monthly fellowship of тВ╣20,000
- Fellowship duration of up to 2 years
- Annual contingency grant of тВ╣20,000
- Support for approved travel, conference registrations, and research consumables.
PhD
- тВ╣70,000 per month (1st & 2nd year)
- тВ╣75,000 per month (3rd year)
- тВ╣80,000 per month (4th & 5th year)
- Research grant up to тВ╣2,00,000 per year
- Fellowship duration of 5 years
The fellowship enables students to focus on advanced quantum research without financial constraints.

Eligibility Criteria
Undergraduate (UG)
Applicants must:
- Be enrolled in any undergraduate engineering or science program.
- Complete the first year before the fellowship begins.
- Have at least 10 months remaining in the course.
- Secure a minimum CGPA of 6.0/10 or 60% marks.
- Not receive any other government-funded scholarship during the fellowship period.
Postgraduate (PG)
Applicants must:
- Be admitted to a PG program in Quantum Technologies or related disciplines.
- Study at IITs, NITs, CFTIs, or AICTE/UGC-approved institutions.
- Hold a valid GATE/JAM score (except eligible dual-degree IIT students).
- Obtain at least CGPA 6.0 or 60% marks.
- Not receive another government fellowship simultaneously.
PhD
Applicants must:
- Be admitted to a PhD program in Quantum Technologies or related fields.
- Study at IITs, NITs, CFTIs, or AICTE/UGC-approved institutions.
- Achieve a minimum CGPA of 7.5 or 70% marks.
- Not receive any other government-funded fellowship.
